Q. What night is training?
A. The training night is coordinated by the coach of the team. The coach will need to consult with the team’s parents and the committee for ground availability. Most teams train one night a week.
Q. My child wants to play with his friend. Can they be in the same team?
A. U6’s and U7’s teams are not graded, so the committee do their best to accommodate any requests in the U6’s and U7’s but we can not guarantee any positions in particular teams. U8′s and up will be graded which means we can not guarantee a child will be playing with another particular child.
Q. How old does my child have to be to play?
A. To be eligible for U6′s your child must be turning 5 in 2013.
Q. My daughter would like to play soccer. Do you have any girl teams?
A. Yes, our girls and ladies teams are rapidly growing. Girls and Ladies soccer is played on a Sunday. O35 ladies play on Friday Nights.
Q. Why grade players?
A. The Rouse Hill Rams Soccer Division is part of the Granville District Soccer Football Association (GDSFA). Clubs within this association must grade players to ensure that teams play with and against players of similar skill and ability. Grading ensures your child’s involvement in the game and the development of their personal soccer skills are optimised. It also maximises their contribution to the team. Whilst parents may wish to have their child play in a particular team, the committee are following the guidelines set out by the GDSFA. Even though a child may not be playing with their best friend, experience shows they quickly form bonds and friendships with their new team mates.
Q. How is grading done?
A. Grading is carried out by a panel of committee members and and if available an independant experienced consultant. Players are assessed on their all round soccer abilities and information provided by the previous seasons coaches.
Q. When will I know what team my child is in?
A. U6’s – U11′s find out on Small Sided Football Muster Day which usually held in early March. Junior Teams from U12 to U18 also find out on Junior Muster Day which is completed a short time after the Small Sided Football Muster. All other graded teams are announced as soon as possible after the last grading session and prior to the trial games.
Q. What does my registration fees cover?
A. Your registration fee covers:
- Insurance
- Registration fee to GDSFA
- Affiliation costs to FFA
- Referees Fees
- Ground hire to The Hills Shire Council
- Electricity for lighting of the grounds
- Purchase of equipment, balls, playing shirts, first aid kits, trophies, line marking paint etc…
Q. Where do I purchase uniforms from and what do I need?
A. Shorts and Socks for the 2013 Season will be available on registration days scheduled for 19th January 2013 and 2nd February 2013 between 10am to 1pm from the Canteen at Hills Centenary Park, Commercial Road, Rouse Hill. You will need to purchase club shorts & socks.
Q. When does the season start?
A. The season for 2013 commences in early April, exact dates to be confirmed.
Q. Is there anything else I need to know as a parent?
A. Yes, the club is run by volunteers and we need help on a Saturday morning to ensure the smooth running of the day. Throughout the season your team will be required to assist with set up, canteen, BBQ and pack up on their allocated week. The number of allocated weeks will depend on the number of teams
